About Us

We began in 2009 when, frustrated at the sight of so many apples going to waste in private gardens, Richard started a pressing service in his Wiltshire back garden. 1.5 tons of apples were collected from gardens, cut into quarters, put through the family magimix (it still works!) and into a small borrowed hand press - making 1,000 bottles with their house name on the label.

Having started, we couldn’t stop; demand & our pressing capacity grew over the years, in 2022, we made 90,000 bottles for customers, meaning 140 tonnes of their Apples did not go to waste.

Our mission is not only to provide a local community pressing service, but to raise awareness of how much fruit grows around us, generally going to waste, which should be used and preserved as food, for the benefit of everyone.

We work with local schools, community groups and charities to support their fundraising, education and biodiversity objectives. We also want to encourage others across the county to set up their own pressing services.

Having finished pressing for other people we press for ourselves buying in 25tonnes of the best English apples and pears from Hertford Orchards which we press at our site in Hungerford, Wiltshire.
